Understanding Infertility
Infertility can be categorized into two types: primary and secondary. Primary infertility refers to couples who have not been able to become pregnant after at least 1 year of having unprotected sex, and secondary infertility refers to couples have been able to get pregnant at least once, but now are unable to carry a successful pregnancy. For females, infertility may also be characterized by the inability to carry a successful pregnancy to term.
It is important to note that infertility can affect both male and female reproductive systems. While the causes of infertility are widely varied, it most commonly affects a male’s sperm production or delivery, and most commonly affects a female’s ovulation.

Finding Support
Coping with infertility can be emotionally challenging. However, there are strategies that can help manage the emotional impact of infertility. Firstly, educating yourself about infertility can help you understand your situation better and make informed decisions about your treatment. Secondly, consider seeking support from therapists or counselors who specialize in dealing with the infertility. Joining a support group can also be a great way to connect with others who are going through similar experiences.
At Palm Beach Fertility Center, we believe that providing emotional support is just as important as medical intervention. Therefore, we offer counseling services and can provide referrals to local support groups and resources as requested.
Remember – it's okay to feel overwhelmed. It's okay to feel sad, angry, or frustrated. These are all normal reactions to a challenging situation. You are not alone in this journey. At Palm Beach Fertility Center, we are here to walk this path with you.
